Dark Velvet Sky of Night

Quiet,
Soft,
Shining bright.

Dark,
Velvet,
Smooth and slight,
Dark,
Velvet,
Sky of night.

Breeze so soft
Upon my skin,
Rest the weary
Fore the morrow begins

Settled sound
In my bed,
Upon a pillow
I rest my head.

Drifting dozily,
My thoughts fade out,
So softly sleeping
Dreaming about.

A turn,
A sigh,
A dream so slight,
A dream of dreams
The dream of night.

Dark,
Velvet,
Smooth and slight,
I dream my dreams
Under the sky of night.

Father-in-law: in memory

Father-in-law was not his name
Dad, Papa, Walt, Wally
He lived each day with vigor
Full of life

He held such passion
Such vision
His will so strong

A man of principle
A man of tact
Of rules and obedience

His tongue was swift
His conversation lengthy
But you always knew where you stood

And though he did not wear it on his sleeve
A heart of gold he had
His love showed through
And now shines down

I will always remember you.

Forever,

Just Infatuated

Infatuated,
Although feeling inferior,
However a plausible emotion,
Yet a feeling not of heart.

Obsessed with my individuality,
However an inadmissible agitation,
Providing a sense of inferiority.

Apprehensiveness overwhelms my mind,
However flattered by your admiration,
Emotions alter an isolation of my consciousness.

Snide Intervention

You impetuously
Enter my existence

Your vicarious chronicles
Your demanding inquiries
Blitz my simplistic demeanor
As a qualm
Exhausts my very being

Dreading
Your constant taunts
Declining
Your harmonious input

Welcome exasperation

Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday

Today, tomorrow and yesterday:
Just a little something
I had to say

Sorrow fills our minds today
With hate and anger.

We feel lonesome, scared
We are frightened and in despair.

Our strength today has weakened.
Our hope is fading fast

What do we have,
What do we need,
What will we see tomorrow?

Will it break the day ,
Will we find our way,
To the end of the past,
And the beginning of tomorrow?

Tomorrow is the same as today
just as yesterday
If we stand in place
And don't look the other way.

We must turn around
We must face our mistakes
Stand up straight
It's a battle we must partake.

What do we have,
What do we need,
What will we see tomorrow?

Will it break the day,
Will we find our way,
To the end of the past
And the beginning of tomorrow?

Inordinate

The other way,
You are to your own,
Living to you .

Living the world:
An ice house 101 degrees,
Sandals on feet at 50 below.

Not Unscathed

Thunder,
Hurricane,
No safe way
To save me.

But please to me, oh!
Make up your mind.
Save me,
Safe-guard me.

Say to me,
Hear you say you would
Love to try some

Let me hear
Are you free to try some.
Are you,
Free to live some,
Free to be some,
Free to die some?

Correspondence

As sure as the
Sun
Rises and sets

In our lives
We wake and fall.

Our lives
In correspondence
With the Sun

Not always
Do we see
The light

Perception

I dislike what I see
But far be it from me
To have that thought

Let it be
It will change with time
That's what they think

But to me
I see things differently
Negatively?

Or
Is negativity
Just a perception?

Riddle me this
Riddle me that
Can anyone just answer?

Is there an answer?
Does anyone know?

People think
a lot of things

Those things
Are analyzed

The things
That are thought
And analyzed
Are perceived

So, in finding the answer
my theory is this:
What you know
Is what you're told

But most of that
Is just some thing
That some-one thought about
And analyzed
And came up with the perception
Of what is
